One good thing -campaign

"It could be anything, give a homeless guy a sandwich, help an old lady across the street like anything to make this world a better place. If everybody just did one good thing for another person like a selfless good deed just think about how much a better place this would be."
-Frank Iero

My Chemical Romance has always encouraged people to do one good thing a day. It doesn't matter what it is, but just do it, that's what they've always said. This project's main idea is to get everyone to do at least one good thing a day, and post their 'good things' online at our site. (As a note, yes we're all just a big group of fuckin hippies.)

You can post anything you'd like. Saved the world? Post it. Made your mom happy by cleaning your house? Post it. It doesn't matter is it a big thing to do or not - a good deed is always a good deed and remember that good deeds don't always go unnoticed!

You can post your good deeds here or related pictures here! My Living Romance will later post them here at our official site!

On a side note: To those of you who have not joined the forum you can also list your good deed here and I (=Vampirina08) will post them onto the forum.

"Let your voice be heard and know that one person can make a differece, you just have to start trying now."

A message from :icontardlz: (Street Team leader)

Please, we need your help with something

My Living Romance is a project dedicated to proving that My Chemical Romance saves lives, not takes them away. Whether you agree with us or not is beyond the point of this post: we need your help.

This is what I posted on the street team's site (I'm the street team leader)
[link]

"November 25th

A new task has been posted, concerning the incident with the spammers. If you are a member of the MLR Forum or are on MLR Crew's MySpace, you've already heard me mention it before. But if you aren't, let me fill you in on the occurrences:

At a couple points in the past few months, spam accounts/posts have been made and used on the forum. In the beginning many of them were just Guest accounts, especially from a person/s claiming to be Hanna Bond - and the posts being irritating and ignorant pleas and complaints that we at MLR should kill ourselves because we "are not doing as the GODS have commanded!" and offering our blood. One such post featured the link to a grotesque picture of some of the most sickening pain I've ever seen - and that is saying something.

Any true MCR fan knows this is utterly ignorant, insulting, pathetic and immature. Any one that can waste enough precious time to write paragraph long posts saying things like that on countless topics on the message board is a truly sad specimen of the human race.

But after we had deleted those posts, the spammers started making accounts. This enabled them to post pictures instead of just links. If you weren't on the forum at the time, you can not imagine the scale at which this slander was done. Pages and pages on every sub-forum on the message board were filled with topics that, when you opened them up (which you had to do, to delete them), were pictures that quite literally scarred many of the forum member's subconscious for life. Such painful, pornographic displays of torturous affairs at the most dreadful level of human lowliness that I do not feel the need or the desire to go into detail, plus swastikas and other offensive displays.

The delicate youthful minds of the young members of the forum which saw these pictures should have never, ever been subjected to such offenses.

After we deleted the posts, topics and accounts - Joanna locked the forum for our protection for several weeks. She left one forum, which was guarded, unlocked so that the members could still access our beloved forum. After a long while of silence from the spammers, the forum was unlocked and every thing went back to normal.

But the spammers arrived soon enough. "Ms Bond is back" - a Guest account - began posting text spam saying things like "I see that you have not joined the Black Parade. Am I the only one that knows the true intentions of the GODS? MCR saved you all, have you repaid them??? NOT AT ALL. Follow your GODS and end your lives!!! IF you do not do so, there will be more visitors!!!"

Forgive me if I'm wrong but when a group of people (most of which aren't even old enough to drink yet) are threatened by an unknown person that if they do not go and kill themselves, the spammers will come back with more force, it displays a very obvious lack of moral and human tolerance, and a deficient amount of adherence to social kindness and good will. Hearing things along the lines of "MCR SUCK!" and "My Chemical Romance are emo!" and things of that nature are a common and expected occurence.

But this was uncalled for.

Now that you know the story, go to Tasks (see: below) to see my rebuttal to the spam attacks.

-Sarah"

Task concerning the spammers:

"The first time the spammers came and vandalized the forum, Joanna said that if things got that worse again - she would go into legal issues with reference to slander. This time around, the spammers have come back and threatened that if we do not kill ourselves - "there will be more visitors."

Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but when someone goes unprovoked onto a website full of teenagers and completely vandalizes the message board with slanderous icons of history and horribly graphic, inappropriate displays of the human body in ways no human ever needs to see, and then threatens them with it again if the teens don't commit suicide - that's punishable by some standard. These are children that were exposed to this total lack of moral guidance. I know even I have nightmares to this day of the things they posted. It's the slandering of an organization's domain with graphic, pornographic, offensive material - exposing underage people to those materials.

Joanna and I discussed bringing in legal matters. I don't know how much luck we'll have, but it's damn well worth a shot. We have plenty of witnesses, and I saved two of the posts from "Ms Bond is back" as evidence. They're not the worst - but they're insulting enough. The rest of the forum can back us up on the rest.
The only drawback: We're Okay Now is very low budget, so even if we were able to turn to legal matters: we don't have the money for a lawyer.

Yet.

I'm begging you, as the leader of the street team and the best friend to many of the victims of these spamming incidents, we need your help. It insults the very dignity of the members of this project to sit back and watch this. When the people I love dearly and accept as my family are offended like this - I as a human can't not do something. So this is your task I set upon you:

It's basically like promoting, but a little different. Wherever you can - on message boards, emails, anything you can think of - post what happened at the MLR forum. Don't leave a detail out. Put the link to our PayPal account with it, making donations possible. We have the link on our site - but it's not enough. I need to talk to Joanna about moving it to a more significant location on the site, instead of hidden deep in the support page. But until then, we need to be straight forward. If you truly care about this project, please. It's not much you have to do. If you don't have money, that's perfectly okay. But find someone that does. Much of our support is nonprofit, so we don't have the money to hire a lawyer to help us with this. Whether the lawyer takes the case or tells us to go home, we won't have backed down without a fight.

It could be a lost cause, but we're fighting. We're trying. We're not letting them get away with things like this.

I refuse to let them.

Anywhere you can, I need you to post what I wrote. The update and the donation link, found here [link] or on the Support page of the main site

[link]

I love you, and will always fight for you.

-Sarah"

And now onto album news:

MCR Get To Work On Non-Concept Album, Sort Of
'We've made concepts for three albums now, so I think this one ... I want to go into it not thinking about a definite story,' frontman Gerard Way says...

Well, at least now we know what the new My Chemical Romance album won't sound like.

A few months back, when we spoke to MCR bassist Mikey Way about the "Batman" story he was writing for DC Comics, he mentioned that he and his bandmates had begun work in earnest on the follow-up to 2006's Welcome to the Black Parade, but, while they're all writing songs, he had no idea what the album would end up sounding like.

"So if, say, we wrote some songs that sound like Rick Springfield, a week later they've all turned into Children of Bodom songs," he explained. "I know it's going to be great — I just don't know what it's going to sound like. We're going to be just as surprised as everyone else, believe me."

And we did. So when we recently caught up with Mikey's brother, MCR frontman Gerard Way, we asked if the new album was still in such a state of flux. His answer? Yes, but he's at least got an idea of how he doesn't want it to turn out....

On the online version of the Rock Sound magazine, they talked to Frank, who gave them an update on MyChem's 4th album.

Frank Iero Gives Album Update

My Chemical Romance axeman Frank Iero has been giving Rock Sound the skinny on the band’s fourth album progress, R&R, and Gerard and Lyn-Z’s good news...

What stage are you guys at with the fourth My Chemical Romance album?
''Right now, it’s really in the preliminary writing stage, just tossing back and forth ideas. There haven’t been any real serious writing sessions yet. We’re actually talking about getting together again this month, and after that in the new year we’ll really sit down and start working on songs. For now it’s just been you know, kinda hanging out.''

Life must have been so hectic over the past few years; we expect you need time to reflect?
''Well that’s the thing, it’s nice to see your family again and become part of their lives again. We’ve been away for so long that it’s hard to reconnect to the people that you left back home, because it’s just hard to reconnect to real life. And to actually be able to make plans and say, ‘Hey, you know what, I will see you next weekend, I will be around, what are you doing, can we hang out and just be together?’ That’s a real nice thing.''

Do you ever stop and pinch yourself? It’s incredible the level you’ve reached from quite modest beginnings, playing smaller festivals and support slots not too long ago...
''Absolutely, every day you wake up and you’re like, ‘Holy shit, what happened?’ I remember being in a van, I remember getting to these shows, and then all of a sudden I’m coming home to a house that’s mine, and playing shows to thousands of people – venues and countries that I never thought I’d play. I feel very, very blessed to be able to do that – I really am doing things that I dreamed of as a kid. We know how fortunate we are, and I don’t think a day goes by that we’re not thankful for that.''

We were very happy to hear that Gerard and Lyn-Z are expecting their first child; is that going to affect MCR’s plans much?
''No. You know if anything, it’s just going to make the family bigger and we’re just really excited. As soon as he told me my jaw dropped, because he was the kind of kid that was like, ‘I’m never going to get married, I’m never going to have kids’, and it was in a year that all that changed. I’m just so excited for him, because he’s so excited, and if anything, it’s just going to make touring that much better – everyone’s gonna have kids out on the road and their wives and stuff, it’s just going to be like a touring family circus

Eidos Enlists My Chemical Romance for Shellshock 2 Soundtrack
Unprecedented collaboration elevates war-torn fear to new levels.
Eidos Interactive, creator of some of the world’s leading videogame properties, today announced an unprecedented collaboration with the multi-platinum art-rock group My Chemical Romance to create the soundtrack for the upcoming psychological first person shooter Shellshock 2: Blood Trails.
From “Let’s Live for Today” to “My Girl,” the acclaimed New Jersey quartet has reinvented more than twenty hits that truly illuminate the game’s harrowing setting of Cambodia ravaged by the Vietnam War. My Chemical Romance’s contributions mark the largest body of music recorded by a blue-chip act exclusively for a game.
“Ever since that first crack at Contra when I was ten, I have been a lifelong gamer, and finding an opportunity like this that indulges my own fantasies while promoting our artistic integrity is truly once in a lifetime,” said My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerald Way.
Additionally, audiophiles will be to geek out with a copy of the game’s soundtrack on vinyl when they purchase the PlayStation®3 edition of Shellshock 2: Blood Trails.
“My Chemical Romance are relentless auditory innovators, and it was only natural that we decided to partner with them to create the most visceral and menacing depiction of war to grace the medium,” said Lee Singleton, General Manager of Eidos Game Studios.
Shellshock 2: Blood Trails will be released in February 2009 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Games for Windows®.

Trufax from the myspace

hi! its bob

it's been a long time since since we have talked. i just wanted to say hi and fill people in on what has been happening with us. as a whole we are all getting ready to get rolling again. we really needed this break but enough is enough already. i cant wait to see the refreshed and excited MCR again. no more falling asleep at 5pm, no more drinking 20 red bulls, just good times coming up.

i will start with myself. my weird zoro scar on my wrist is going down finally. i have been doing physical therapy every few days now which is helping out a ton. i have to sit and lift tiny weights over and over again until i cant anymore, then i play with putty, then i stack cups, sometimes i squeeze plastic, play with rice, etc. It kinda feels like when i was in kindergarten day care except it hurts. my favorite part is hearing the stories of the other patients. one lady fell down her stairs because she tripped on her cat and broke her shoulder. i try not to laugh but i cant help it. i was actually sitting with a player from the bears last week too. that guy was about 20 feet tall and as big as a house. i didn't look him in the eye. i think i have a couple months before i am back to playing again. i am always going to have pain in my hand so i will be changing my playing a bit. i have to rearrange my drums and i will need to play waaay lighter. dont call me a p@$^y when you see me.

Other then that i am just hanging out. i got another dog! i now have two black german shepherds. they rule. they are my buddies. i am going to bring them everywhere with me. toro got a new puppy too. frank has 19 dogs now. i shot up up my garage with a pistol and the cops came. that was fun..... i also have been playing halo again. halo and legos is actually part of therapy for me. i just hit level 35 which is awesome for me. i would love to challenge anybody to a duel. my xbox name is dixiediarrhea (long story, my dogs name is dixie, she had diarrhea). if anyone knows souljaboy personally please let him know i challenge him. that guy seems like an awesome dude and i want to play against him. he says he can beat anyone. dixiediarrhea says differently. i will bet 2 dollars that i whoop him.

anyway, i see that im rambling. im tired. i was going to fill you in on everyone else but i dont want to anymore. hahaha. which actually brings me to a point. we are soon going to launch a new website. its going to be very simple and to the point. one of the new features will be us typing in on our phones straight to the site so everyone can tell you themselves what they are up to. now that we are coming out of MCR hibernation we want to keep everyone informed and to maybe have some fun. blogathon 5000. i will type in all the juicy details like perez hilton.

ok. im going to bed. me and my friend, the sanch, and dixie are about to drive from chicago to los angeles to hang with gerard and friends. come hang out.
gerard's address is 2800 E Observatory Rd Los Angeles, CA 90027. see you there. bring fun.

see everyone soon or on halo

I decided to start another News journal since the other one was getting rather clogged.

First off: Sorry I have not been on recently, things are still a bit hectic for me here at home and I haven't been able to get many things done. So if you've submitted something then I'm sorry but I won't be able to get up for a little while but don't let that deter you from submitting.

Secondly: Scream Awards!
There's an interview

Pictures can be found here

And in umbrella Academy news:
Way exclusively told the IESB that UMBRELLA ACADEMY has already been optioned by Universal Pictures and they've just had their first meeting about the feature film.

Way says they are are currently searching for screenwriters and that he is a big fan of director Alfonso Cuarón. Cuarón is definitely on Way's wish list but he remains totally open to others as well.

Also, so far as his involvement in the film, he wants to be creatively involved but overall have the film be the vision of a director he trusts completely.

He has also spoke with costume designer Colleen Atwood (most recently of Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street) about working together on the film.

Also, Way revealed that Universal Pictures has suggested writer Diablo Cody to jump on board.

An added bonus, UMBRELLA ACADEMY artist Gabriel Ba was nominated at the Scream Awards for for Best Comic Book Artist and he won!

Gary is back so everything that we have worked for has all been thrown downhill into the gutter. As far as I can tell all posting has been suspended, registration has been suspended, people that were key in our founding of a decent site have been banned. Gary is back, and it's not good.

That site is gone.

Yes, I'm sure everyone is happy to hear that. I'm also sure that if you've been following the updates made to the media journal you've become aware of this site: [link]

The admin from the What is emo? site is in the process of making another and is removing all and any references to MCR.

This is what they posted:
Hello,
I'm the admin at the whatisemo site. NotaSceneKid had contacted me and said that there is much agreement on emo, and there has been much misunderstanding regarding MCR. I'm interested in hearing your stories, especially how emo has had an impact on your lives. I've read that the current "state" of emo has offended some because it causes others to assume that self injury is done to fit in and is attention seeking. We all know that this is not the case. We've read that the fans of the "original emo," that was nothing more than a musical genre, are upset with what many of the current fans have done to their genre. I, of course, am against the current emo scene because I believe that is has harmed many kids. I think that awareness needs to be raised to confront all of these problems.

The current [link] site has been inactive for some time now. I am not updating it at this time. I am currently using a new site with expanded capabilities. Here is what I am proposing. For those of you that are opposed or angry about the current emo, post your stories here. If you approve, I'll add them to my site as a way to show what some kids think. As a token of good faith, I will remove all references to MCR on my new site.

Additionally, I have spoken to Walter. He will be contacting Gary about taking down this site. We are going to ask that the forum be left, so we can continue to communicate.

Please respond and let me know what you think about this. I beleive that we may have an unprecedented opportunity to cooperate. I never thought that this would be possible, but it appears that many of us agree about this issue.

You can contribute here: [link] Be reasonable! Don't accuse or abuse! We have no reason to treat them unjustly!

Now I have been active on the forum of the second and found out a few things: Many things that have happened on both site have been the cause of major misunderstandings and crossed wires.

The admins are open to logical and reasonable discussions here. As I've mentioned before I've been active on the forum and have nothing but non-confrontational exchanges. The person who put up the site has gone away from it for a time, I'm supposing to clear his head.
If any of our members go on the site and start posting to the forums I would like to say that you needs to keep your head. DO NOT POST IF YOU'RE GOING TO BE UNREASONABLE!
